Looks intense. Is krunner still using the list of matches or is it now something else? I think the list is great, but the current implementation of it was kind of lacking.
Compliments to the chef, for brewing this up. Sorry I mean Artist; looks very nice and I cannot wait for it to be implemented.
Keep up the great work to everyone on the Oxygen Team!

Better fix the fonts in KDE then, because the fonts in this mockup are way better than the real rendered fonts in KDE.

Aha. I thought it was a Plasmoid first, but this is the look of the new Krunner? Awesome. I never liked the look of the “current” one, but this mockup looks very promising.
I also wonder how the results will be presented - Aaron mention some kind of “icon parade”, didn’t he? Well, it’ll be interesting to see the result.

Looks great, just wondering if the rocket would look better inside the input field
Nice picture I really like the minimal transparency.
I’m getting more and more nervous every day we com closer to kde4!

It looks terrific! What about creating a Plasmoid as well? It surely would look great on the desktop! Keep up the good work!

Hi David,
+ Points for sexyness. Certain un-named rival desktops are already using the “glossy black” finish on their desktops for gadgets, sidebars and so on.
It looks good, but perhaps you could try with the blue-navy colours from the KDE 4 logo you created and see if that works? I hope it would make everything look more of a piece.
“Just make its tint based on the global color scheme”
but do include a config file for krunner to change its color independently in case you really insist :)

Hi,
It is really EXCELLENT, the color, the shape and everything about it.
But please make all the plasma widget have a consistent look and feel ;-) that way the kde desktop will look more and more professional
@morphie — fonts can be made to look like that - use liberation sans and adjust the hinting style to your tastes - set to light or none for more blurry/smooth fonts
I just posted the appearence you get when you launch krunner (pressing ALT+F2). I’m still preparing a detailed post explaining the new features I would like to see implemented.
@ Robert Knight, Paul Giannaros, kwilliam
Yes, you’ll be able to change the color. I don’t know if it will be done by configuration or general color scheme, but in some way this will be possible.
@ Leo
of course a list will be shown and will be easily browsable with arrow keys. But it won’t look like a list ;)
@Robert Knight
I think the same, KDE could do with a consistent look, blue is stylish and professional, and we don’t exactly need to copy the color scheme of Vista. Something unique, but equally attractive would be best.

Very original.
However, the rocket icon shold use lighter colors, because it is not realy visible only if you stare at it closer.
Really appreciate your work.
Keep it up!
@ David Webb
Sorry but I totally disagree with you. If it’s black it’s not to copy Vista (which actually is not black), but it’s because black or grey are colors that fit with any wallpaper. Blue still KDE color (see, folders, they will be blue as swell as KDE logo), but making everything blue doesn’t sound really smart.

Looks beautiful! Can’t wait for KDE4.
I think it looks great in black, Vista doesn’t have an exclusive claim on the colour black - if anything it has a number of elements going for it (transparency, blue-greenish tones etc). There’s no reason the colour should be changed due to that reason.

I agree with Robert, it’d be interesting to see it in a blue or any other brighter colour really — it would look a little more Oxygen, surely?
Just make its tint based on the global color scheme - I want mine green! :-)
(Although I have to admit, black looks good with just about anything.)

Hmm.. why not make the lineEdit (textbox) look better? something like removing the background and borders.. and leave only a blinking cursor :)
That’s sexy.
Have you tried smoothing the edges of the textbox, making them more round?
@David - could you give any more details on how to change the hinting style? Thanks!
Hehehe, this was an enigmatic post. I know.

the lineedit in this mockup is just a placeholder, I want to use the same lineedit from the oxygen style in there.
